When I think of various artist compilations, I think of a promotional tool for either record labels or a bunch of unsigned bands featuring previously released songs from albums or demos.  This, of course, does not accurately describe the vast array of Various Artists projects, many which feature a large number of tracks unavailable elsewhere that were recorded exclusively for that project.  Many of these projects feature some central theme (worship, praise, evangelism, spiritual topic, special benefit album, etc.).  Then there are many other albums which don't feature single songs by individual bands, but rather a group of popular Christian musicians who've agreed to participate in the whole project.  So, to help sort out all of these albums, I'm dividing my various artist listing into 2 sections.

COMPILATIONS - This list will be composed primarily of the label sampler or promotional albums that usually feature previously released or just-about-to-be-released album tracks by a bunch of different artists on the label, or a collection of unsigned artists.

PROJECTS - This list will consist of all the other theme-oriented projects, including tribute albums.  Most of these will usually have one or more tracks unavailable elsehwere.  I will include in this list tribute albums that were released after 2000, so long as they are covering an artist who appears in my discography.

While I have started out listing just the titles for which I have prepared an info page for in order to indicate all of the songs on the release, I now have a fairly extensive collection of compilations and other praise/worship oriented church groups (Hosanna, Vineyard, Hillsong, etc.) in my backroom collection that I intend to list eventually.  Most of these compilations will now have some kind of information available online at Discogs.com or another source.
