Comments: This is supposed to be a recollection of sorts of the history of the Alternative Records label, in existence since 1979.  The number of tracks that come from album releases is indicative of the history of the label.  They'd been mostly sort of an underground label - a haven for creativity - and like most of those labels, have disappeared just as quietly since.  They probably have less than 20 albums to their name (maybe even less than 10).  This compilation was released simultaneously with the Shirley, Goodness and Misery compilation, which has several more unreleased rarities from this small label.
