Comments: There's a few tracks on disc 1 which are different from the Matrix 1983-1984 custom CD release by Bride. Tracks 5, 10, 12, 18 and 20 are not on that first custom Matrix release direct from Bride. In typical fashion, the liners in this release are confusing as they can be. They sound like they're claiming that disc 1 has all the songs from the Matrix demos PG-13 and Monkey See Monkey Do. The liners then go on to list the songs on each of those demos, but 2 of the song titles in those liner lists don't match up with the song listing for the CD. The 9th song on PG-13 is listed in the liners as "Battlefield", which could be an alternate song title for "To Make You Think It's Real". But the first song on Monkey See, Monkey Do is listed in the liners as being "Butterfly" which is certainly not an alternate title for "Heroes". According to the Millenium Eight Silence Is Madness reissue, "Butterfly" is one of the songs off of Dale Thompson's first 6-song solo release Lost In His Love. It's probably safe to assume that "Heroes" is the correct Matrix song from Monkey See, Monkey Do. So this is just more typical M8 oversight and confusion.
Most of the tracks on this release which weren't on the Bride custom
release - specifically, tracks 10, 12, 18 and 20 - can also be found as
bonus tracks on the Millenium Eight Show No Mercy CD
reissue.
But the kicker is that there's actually an error (sound wobble) on
track
10 of this release. On Show No Mercy, that segment of the
song is skipped, shortening the time for the track. So perhaps
this
error was actually on the original Monkey See, Monkey Do demo,
and
was edited out for Show No Mercy. But if this wasn't the
case,
and M8's copy of Monkey See, Monkey Do wasn't perfect, then
this
wouldn't be any surprise given M8's track record to date.
